About MEF

Our Mission

At the McAllen Education Foundation (MEF), our mission is clear: to provide unwavering support that fosters excellence and enriches educational opportunities for students in the McAllen Independent School District (ISD). Established in 1996, MEF is a philanthropic, tax-exempt, public corporation that operates independently of McAllen ISD. Our passionate board, composed of business and civic leaders from our vibrant community, guides our efforts to create a brighter future through education.

MEF operates independently of McAllen ISD, allowing us the flexibility to provide innovative solutions and resources to enrich education. We are guided by a shared vision of empowering teachers and inspiring students. We firmly believe that investing in education today will shape a more promising tomorrow.
